I don’t know about you, but like a sterotypical girl/women, I love shoes. So when I got this email I had to share. I think after caring for my little bean for months I deserve a pair of new shoes.
Until April 18th, if you sign up for email alerts on piperlime.com, you get a 20% off coupon.
On my last trip to NY, I had these beautiful cookies from Elenis and thought these would make a great baby shower gift or birthday gift.
For limited time, if you use code Mom2009 you get 15% off on your purchase. Bon Appetit!!
As our little baby bean gets older I can see how she can get herself in trouble. She already scratched her face with her nails numerous times and hit her little noggin on the edge of the table. So it got me thinking it is definitely time to get my little bean’s first aid kit together. So armed with CVS coupons, I am setting out to grab necessary items for her first aid kit.
• Infant and/or child thermometers (both digital and ear or rectal).
• Children’s and infants’ non-aspirin liquid pain reliever (acetaminophen), as recommended by your pediatrician.
• Topical calamine lotion or hydrocortisone cream (1/2 percent) for insect bites and rashes.
• Rubbing alcohol to clean thermometers, tweezers, and scissors.
• Petroleum jelly to lubricate rectal thermometers.
• An antiseptic skin cleaner, such as Hibiclens (don’t use hydrogen peroxide, which causes tissue damage).
• Antibacterial cream, also for cuts and scrapes.
• Tweezers for removing splinters and ticks.
• A pair of sharp scissors.
• Pediatrician-approved children’s-strength liquid decongestant.
• Nasal aspirator bulb (not a pointy-ended ear syringe).
• An assortment of adhesive bandage strips in various sizes and shapes (for children’s sensitive skin, , get the less-sticky kind).
• Gauze rolls (1/2 to 2 inches wide).
• Gauze pads (2 by 2 and 4 by 4 inches).
• Adhesive tape.
• Sterile cotton balls.
• Cotton-tipped swabs.
• Mild liquid soap (most antibacterial and deodorant soaps are too strong for babies’ sensitive skin).
• An oral syringe or calibrated cup or spoon for administering medicines to infants and children.
• A hot-water bottle and an ice pack.
• A small flashlight to check ears, nose, throat, and eyes.
• First-aid manual
• Rehydration fluids, such as Pedialyte.
In addition to the items listed on this list you should also have a little print out of the important phone numbers within the kit, so it’s readily available when you need it.
My husband and I just found out that there is a indoor rock climbing gym right by our house called Rockreation. We went by this weekend and we can’t wait to try it out. The facility is so much nicer and roomier than what it looks like from the outside, and people who worked there were very nice and helpful.
If you and your family is interested, they have classes for ages 6 and up so rather than looking for a baby sitter for your child, you can take them with you and make it a family event!
(Oh I hear rock climbing can do wonders for your figure too)
Rockreation is located at :
11866 La Grange Ave
West Los Angeles, CA 90025
While researching for baby/kid photographers in the area, I realized I missed my chance to take any pregnancy photos.
If you are looking for photographers who take maternity pictures here are some I found in the Los Angeles area.
Kidnasium is a gym for beans 6 months to 7 years old. It offers one hour classes with various programs that are age appropriate. They offer free first class by appointment, so go ahead and schedule one for you and your bean.
They also rent out their facility for birthday parties on the weekends.
Kidnasium is located at:
808 Wilshire Blvd. Suite 100. Santa Monica, CA 310-395-6700
As all new mothers know, it is so sad when you first feel your tummy after your baby bean is born. Oh how soft it is …
I saw these exercises on Self.com and is planning to try them. Why don’t you try them too?
Our little bundle of joy is almost 50 days old, and I just found my life saver baby activity gym. Our baby bean needed me or her daddy to hold her constantly when she was awake and would get cranky if I left her lying down. But yesterday, she discovered the baby gym and now it keeps her intrigued for at least 10 minutes at a time.
We have the Fisher-Price Rainforest Melodies & Lights Deluxe Gym, but there are so many different ones out there.
Here are some I found,
Get one for you and your baby if you are expecting or have a little baby sprout like us. Your back will thank you.
