Now a list to keep our baby sprout clean. Who would have thought you need all this stuff?

Infant Bathtub

Bath Support

Bath Toys

Bath Toy Storage – Seriously?! how much bath toys does a baby sprout need?

4-6 Hooded Baby Towels

6-8 Baby Washcoths

Baby Shampoo and wash

Baby lotion

Brush and Comb

Grooming Kit

Diaper Bag

On the Go Changing Mat

Diaper Pail and refills

Baby Wipes

Baby Wipes Warmer – I am foregoing this one

Diapers

In Korea where I am from, moms buy a baby clothes washing machine. So glad that I don’t see it here on this list. I was worried where I can put another washer…

Whew! the list goes on…..

Travel Playard

2-3 Play Sheets

High Chair

Swing – I read it in several places that this is a must

Bounder Seat or Rocker

Batteries!

Activity Play Mat or Gym

Rattles and Take Along Toys

Developmental Toys

Activity Walker

Books

Stuffed Animals

CD Player

Lullaby and Sing Along CDs

DVDs

Crib Toys

Bath Toys

I don’t know how our readers are feeling about the magnitude of stuff, but I am getting really worried about where to put all this. Our house is already pretty cluttered as it is. (hubby likes junk- although he calls it collectibles) Maybe I need to think really hard about having a massive garage sale. (Hubbies- stuff goes first)

For people who like to be outside the house, this category is pretty important. Since I been pregnant, I have been noticing what moms and dads have with them when they go out with a baby for walks on the beach, and it seems that you have lots of things to lug around.

Infant or Convertible Car Seat ( you must have this before you leave the hospital with your baby bean, since CA law says you need to put a child under 6 or under 60 pounds in a car seat at all times)

Additional Base for Car Seat

Car Seat Head Support

Car Window Shade

Car Seat Protector

Stroller or Travel System

Stroller Sun Shade

Baby Sling/Carrier

Toys for the traveling baby bean

Diaper Bag

Continuing on with the list of things a baby-sprout needs… ( I am thinking you don’t need all this immediately – I mean come on, how is a baby going to open the toilet when she can’t even hold up her head?) However, according to baby stores, we need all this registered :)

My husband and I love to cook and entertain. We can’t wait to cook with our daughter and expand her palette to variety of cuisine. Till then we are going to have to feed her somehow. The following list is what one needs to successfully feed a baby sprout.

Nursing Pillow

Breast Pump and Accessories

Breastmilk Storage Containers

Nursing Wrap/Cover

Nursing Bra

Breast Pads, Shields and Cream

8-12 Bibs

6-12 Burp Cloths

Bottles and Nipple

Bottle Brush

Bottle Sterilizer

Bottle Warmer

Insulated Tote

Bottle Drying Rack

Dishwasher Caddy

At the moment I am planning to breastfeed. My training so far has been from a book. I am not sure if I will attend a class on breastfeeding. (I had my share of classes) If anyone is looking for a class, you should check out my post on Birth classes. Most of those places offer breastfeeding classes as well.

While researching what to register for our baby sprout, I came across several checklists on the internet. Here is combination of several lists I found useful. (I always wondered what Layette meant – A layette is a collection of clothing for a newborn child. The term “layette set” is commonly used in the United States to refer to gift sets of baby clothes.)

Homecoming outfit

4-6 Side Snap Undershirts

4-6 Receiving Blankets

2-4 Swaddle Sets

4-6 Long/Short Sleeved Onsies

4-6 Footie Outfits

4-6 T-Shirts

3-5 Pants

2-4 Sweaters

2-4 Jackets

Dress Up Outfits

2-4 Sleep Sacks

4-6 Gowns/Sleepwear

9-12 Booties/Socks

2-3 Caps/Hats

12-24 Clothing Hanger

My favorite brand at the moment for layette is Tea Collection. You can find them at the following stores in the West Los Angeles Area.
