Children’s Workshop: The Art of Japanese Tea

March 5 (Saturday)

10 a.m.–1 p.m.

Kids can explore the stories and customs of Japan in this cooking workshop led by chef Maite Gomez-Réjon. Following a visit to the Japanese Garden, the class will prepare and enjoy a traditional Japanese meal, complete with tea. Ages 7–12. Fee includes one accompanying adult. Members: $55. Yoga for Kids

Strike a pose like a garden statue and breathe deeply like a flower in this three-session class presented by Mini Yogis Yoga for Kids, with instructor Shana Hope Urban. Located on the world famous Santa Monica Pier, Pacific Park is a great place for the family to play. It’s the West Coast’s only amusement park located on a pier. There’s a lot of stuff to do here and a great view of the ocean. The pier is absolutely huge and has restaurants and shopping. It’s a classic east coast feeling to walk around the ferris wheel and the roller coaster. They also have bumper cars which was my favorite as a kid.

The Pac Park website has a few things for kids too. There’s a gaming section which lets you play puzzle games, matching games and many others.
